It is an “intellectual” Book, requiring a willingness to first dedicate oneself to the study of the whole word, an ability to reason
and solve problems based upon an understanding of the scriptures, in general, first, then, by pulling together those scriptures,
relating them to historical and current events so as to solve the conundrum (mystery, puzzle…confusion!  For some, the
“enigma”) of the prophecies (shall we say), thereby unlocking the view in a glimpse of the end-times God has prepared for us.  
Reading and applying the multiple theological misnomers of other modern so-called scholars and prophecy experts is not an
effective substitute.

If the Apocalypse of Jesus Christ is an intellectual Book requiring much thought and reasoning skills, is it not strange that prior
to our day, one could have “thought” until he literally burned a whole in his brain, yet never understood its content?  No serious
student of Bible prophecy and of the Revelation before 1900AD would ever have had greater than the simplicity of his faith (his
confidence that because God said it, it is therefore true) to sustain him, and to buoy his meager understanding—in the wake of a
nagging want for more.  None, even so close, could ever have envisioned this day, and these awesome and simultaneously
awful times, in which we live, or, the tremendous impact the events of this day would have on the realization, viability and
practicality of all that God has both prophesied and promised.  Much of the Bible’s validating history, to which it is espoused,
was buried under Middle Eastern sands (or, stored in hidden archives of one sort or the other) and the science it embraced had
not been invented.  Clearly, by the end of WWII, a new day had dawned.  God’s Revelation, given to men via the hands of His
Son, delivered by angelic messenger to John the revelator, who physically penned and passed it on to us was therefore meant
for the intellects of the educated and enlightened minds of our times, much more so than for those of yesteryears (that they
offer so little in the way of practical interpretation and application is, therefore, as much understandable as it is forgivable).

The Book of the Revelation opens in chapter one by making a point of highlighting the Source of the material presented herein:  
God the Father is the Originator, who did so with the intent of giving it to Jesus Christ the Son, who was to pass it on to a
heavenly ‘delivery man’ in the form of one of His angels who in turn was to give it to John, whose job was to insure that the
message was preserved in writing, before being passed on to the churches.  The content of the message is a detailing of events
which once they start, must and will transpire quickly (such is the meaning of the Greek term translated ‘shortly’ in the KJV
and probably most other translations; the noun “tachos” literally signifies that the events of this Revelation are to be confined to
a “brief space of time”; it does not in any wise signify or suggest that John or the churches were to expect that the Apocalypse
was to happen in their day; although they were to live as if it would—see also 22:6.).  Coupled with the remainder of the this
Book, and the rest of the prophetic word, “tachos” quite destroys any notion as that the Revelation could have occurred at any
point in time in the past, other than our own—regardless of what the apostles or the early churches thought (no one knew
better than God the Father their want for understanding.  It was therefore, written for the enlightened, educated minds of our

It is a blessed thing for all of God’s saints to read all of the Word of God, but this Book has the distinction of being the only one
in the entire Bible that carries its own peculiar blessing.  All readers and all hearers are each blessed, so long as we guard (from
loss), watch over and preserve the things written and described in this Book (believe and govern our lives accordingly); for the
time, John says, is near.

The Book of the Revelation was actually written originally as a letter to seven churches.  All of those churches were located in
an area known now as Asia Minor.  The letter was written per instructions received from the resurrected and ascended Jesus
Christ, identified here as the One who is (being alive again, from the dead), the One who was (having been born of the virgin
Mary, later dying on Calvary’s Cross), and the One who is to come (as He will come again, physically with His saints, to
terminate this time of testing and to usher all—the tribulation saints, all of whom will be dead up to that point, and what’s left of
rebel humanity—into the Millennial Reign); the Faithful Witness (reference to His successful role and walk on earth, marked by
absolute fidelity, without flaw or fault of any kind, though He was fully human), the First Born from the dead (testament to His
death, burial and resurrection; the assurance of our own future resurrection) and the First or Chief of all the kings and rulers of
all the earth (ultimately, His mission here on earth having been flawlessly executed and completed, He, having regained in the
physical all His former authority and power held when He was Spirit, their destinies now rest in His hands).  While He is the
Alpha and Omega (the Initiation and the Culmination of the plans and all the purposes of God, as pertain to mankind), He is
likewise the One Who having loved us all, spilt His blood so as to wash away the taint and stain of our sins, thereby making us
(all who believe, trust and obey) to be kings and priests to God, Who is His
Christ Resurrected

Ideally, the Christians’ approach to comprehensive
understanding of the Book of the Revelation must begin
on bended knee, well in advance of any serious study,
having given much thought and reflection (and
application to his own life) upon the whole of God’s
word, the Bible.  Frustration and anguish of soul and
mind, in addition to misrepresentation of facts, awaits
those who do otherwise.

As is true of all prophecy, The book of the Revelation of
Jesus the Christ is a compilation of messages designed
and put together so as to make one think.  It is not a
work calculated to appeal to those lazy theologians,
professional religionists and professing saints who have
no credible daily walk with God in other areas of His
word—who twist His word to fit their own self-serving
ends, demands or whelms.  The Book is not intended for
those not willing to stretch and grow in all other aspects
of His word as well.  Moreover, it is not a Book for the
faint of heart, nor is it at all pie-in-the-sky religion tailored
for those looking for “fun”, who must be entertained, or,
God is for them, irrelevant.  It is a book dire, deadly
serious in its predictions; dreadful in its anticipated
outlook for the future of mankind (those who now live
